While the exact reason for birthmarks’ formation is unknown, we still know that birthmarks are very common discolorations on our skin which may appear either at birth or during the first few weeks of our lives. These marks are normally harmless.

Stretch Mark
You may notice some bands of parallel lines with varying colors and texture on your skin, usually around your abdomen, hips, arms, breast and thighs.
These lines are stretch marks, and they are neither dangerous nor uncommon. These marks are produced due to the increased amount of cortisol in your system, paired with your skin stretching. When produced in higher quantities, cortisol can reduce the elasticity of your skin.
Stretch marks are more common among pregnant women, or among those who have experienced rapid weight gain or loss. Teenagers going through puberty may develop stretch marks as well.
